North Rim Grand Canyon Mountain Biking Pictures

These are pictures from the second Rim Tours trip I went on with the Polak. This is the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I thought the White Rim Trail (pictures of that trip begin after the Grand Canyon pictures and a sample can be seen here) was much better in all regards, but it was still a great trip. The Grand Canyon part of the ride was fantastic. The pine forest part of the ride was just good. It wasn't Rim Tours' fault at all, just that when you've been to the White Rim it's hard to get much better.

Of course, the fact that the Polak shed his own blood on this trip made up some of the difference.

Oh my...this was pure heaven. This is the trail along the north rim of the Grand Canyon. It was recently built and it makes up for some of the less interesting parts of the ride in the pine forest outside of the north rim. Perfect width, not too technical, nice winding and rolling trail. This goes along the rim of the Grand Canyon. Posted by Hello

Utah or Arizona? Posted by Hello

Some of these pictures look a lot like others. Posted by Hello

This is my idea of beauty.  Posted by Hello

I really liked the scenery here. Posted by Hello

If you look carefully, those hills form a snake... Posted by Hello

Sorta looks like Utah! Posted by Hello

Here's the way my mind works...the first thing I thought was: If I had my 7mm at this point I could have taken them all out.  Posted by Hello

Fuck hotels and cities. Give me a forest, a tent and a Santa Cruz Superlight. Posted by Hello

I had to take a piss break and decided to take a picture of the guys waiting for me rather than of the obvious. Posted by Hello

This was a LOT of fun. Posted by Hello

I liked riding this part of the pine forest.  Posted by Hello

They even have signs in the Grand Canyon. Posted by Hello

At a certain point we had to actually ride on a road to get back on the trail to the north rim of the Grand Canyon. This was that point. I think it was a few miles, at most.  Posted by Hello

That kid bugged me. Teenagers shouldn't go on these trips. Posted by Hello

Damn clouds. Posted by Hello

BEHOLD, ICH! Posted by Hello

I took this picture hoping it would become part of the Rim Tours website. Posted by Hello

We did NOT ride down into the canyon. Just along the rim. Posted by Hello

It's Grand! Posted by Hello

I swear I've seen this before. Posted by Hello

Polak and I are not the most aggressive downhill riders. However, before we got to the rim trail we rode down some fairly rocky areas in the pine forest. At one point, Polak flew by me at a speed that I thought was unusually fast for us. I mumbled "he's going to crash" as I poked along down the trail. A few minutes later, I caught up to him as he lay among the sharp rocks, bike tangled in his monkey limbs, blood seeping out of several wounds.  Posted by Hello

This must be what the world looks like to a Democrat. Posted by Hello
